Overview

Department of Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge is a branch of dentistry that is responsible for replacement of missing teeth and oral structures and restoring morphology, function and esthetics. The fields of expertise would include training students in Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Occlusion and TMJ Dysfunction, Dental Implants, Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. Our students are made to understand the basic ideas for the application of an evidence-based approach to help with patient’s clinical problems.

Mission

• To educate students to attain thorough skill and competency in the specialty of Prosthodontics.
• To make the students achieve complete knowledge and skill to fulfill the fundamental prosthetic needs of patients through clinical training.
• On imparting sound knowledge in latest techniques using the recent advancements in prosthodontics and to evaluate contemporary clinical competency to provide quality treatment to patients.
• To make the students understand comprehensive care of their patients to achieve optimal oral health, esthetics and smile design.

Objectives

• To understand the basic principles of diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment strategies with the use of appropriate materials in the prosthodontic rehabilitation of the dental and associated structures.
• To perform fixed or removable treatment in patients requiring complete or partial replacement of teeth and associated tissues for varying presenting conditions
• To reach out to the public at large who are unable to avail the services rendered by means of camps, extension services and door to door treatment.
• To expand and inculcate research by the students and faculty by availing the in-house state of the art laboratory facilities.
• To use informatics in learning and research, to be on par with global standards and promote the life-long learning experience.
