Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgical specialty focusing on reconstructive surgery of the face, facial trauma surgery, surgery for head and neck pathology, as well as facial cosmetic surgery.

Objectives

• Provide excellent state -of- the- art education for dental students, in routine and advanced forms of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
• To evaluate the patient care with review of patient records, treatment planning and management for quality health care.
• Advance the knowledge base of dental professionals including oral maxillofacial surgical specialists via scholarly work; research, publications and presentation on a national and international basis.
• Collaborate with other health professions both on and off campus to deliver education and patient care to those best served by a team approach.
• To provide excellent oral and maxillofacial treatment facilities to the rural population.
